Portraits by Rachael Romero

Rachael Romero has made portraits of the people close to her since she was a child. As a teen in Europe and later in Turkey she has used portrait-making as a way to communicate beyond language in the early 1980's she painted portraits on the late night summer sidewalks of Greenwich Village. She still paints her students and co-workers on occasion.
